Taking A Step Back To Find Your Blog’s Voice
March 29, 2008 by Beau · Leave a Comment
Its been about 2 weeks since I posted at TzuVelli. My Goal for this blog is for it to be a place that I can learn about blogging, Internet marketing, blog promotion, making money online and maybe connect with other people that have the same goals. Unfortunately, I have been a bit ill recently and have not had a lot of energy for research and writing much less anything else. I have an inner ear problem. When it is active I loose about 50% of the hearing in the affected ear and suffer from bouts of vertigo that last for about 3 hours. These aren’t simple dizzy spells. My entire world turns upside down. It is completely debilitating. Once the vertigo has subsided, I am physically exhausted....

TzuVelli Phase One Finally Complete
I have not had as much time as I would have liked to devote to TzuVelli. What little time I have had has been devoted to creating the resources for each category. Honestly, I created the category resources because I am the most unorganized person, when it comes to bookmarks. I tend to bookmark all kinds of resources and then forget about them. And, when I do need the bookmark I have to look back across three different computers. Talk about time consuming. So, I decided to organize these bookmarks on the landing page of each related category. I could have just written a few resource posts for each category but posts tend to get pushed to the back and forgotten about. Besides these are resources...

Build Traffic With Forums: 6 Key Forum Characteristics
March 11, 2008 by Beau · Comments Off
Forums are a brilliant way to promote your blog or website. But, you must promote yourself, and your blog, in the right way. Forums are communities of like minded people with strong similar interests. When you join a forum you are joining a community. In general, long term forum members are very protective of their community and view new members suspiciously. Primarily new members are viewed suspiciously due to over-zealous marketers attempting to game forums by spamming them. DO NOT TRY TO GAME FORUMS. You will be quickly banned. Become an active member and add value to the forum. Once you are seen as a valued member traffic will flow from the forum to your blog. But, before then,...

Your Blog’s About Page, Your Vision, Your Thesis
February 26, 2008 by Beau · 3 Comments
A blog’s "About" or "About Me" page is considered to be one of the most important pages on a blog. The argument is that, with an About page you are able to communicate to blog visitors who you the blogger are and what your blog is about. With a well crafted About page, that describes the remarkable benefits of reading a blog, blog visitors can be converted to blog readers. A blog’s "About" page is much more than simple landing page. 14 Lessons Learned From A Nearly Failed Blog Launch
February 19, 2008 by Beau · 5 Comments
Over the past week I learned a lot about launching a blog. During its first week, TzuVelli received about 20,000 hits. I had not expected that much traffic. I was unprepared for this type of traffic. I was not able to capitalize on the traffic the blog received. Although, some bloggers would consider a blog launch with 20,000 hits a success, I do not. If you cannot capitalize on traffic then the traffic is worthless. Most of the traffic that TzuVelli received in its first week, came from one article, Your Ultimate StumbleUpon Resource. Thanks to Steve Snell of Vandelay Design for reviewing and thumbing up the post at StumbleUpon. (more…) AKPC_IDS += "53,";Popularity: 60% [?] Read More →

TzuVelli Only 1 Week Old And Already Changes
February 18, 2008 by Beau · Leave a Comment
TzuVelli has been open for only one week. All of you who were here on opening day know that it launched only partially completed. I was very embarrassed by this. But, I had little choice in the matter. I had already missed one opening date and I did not want to miss another. There are plenty of reasons for this sad state of affairs. I won’t bore you with the details. Hopefully, it will suffice to say that, the issues that occurred during the three weeks leading up to the blog’s launch were unavoidable. I hope you all will be patient with me as I complete the configurations to the theme, do a few structural reconfigurations, and get into a consistent blogging groove. (more…) AKPC_IDS...

17 Reasons Why Readers Subscribe To Your Blog
February 10, 2008 by Beau · 3 Comments
I’ve read a lot of posts on how to get people to subscribe to your blog. Most if not all of those posts focus on three basic premises; make it easy for readers to subscribe, promote your feed to attract more subscribers, and finally, create great content to seal the deal converting blog visitors to blog subscribers. That is good advice. But, it’s advice from a single perspective. They answer the question of how to increase blog subscribers from an inside-to-outside perspective. In other words they all attempt to answer the fundamental question of "How do I get you to do something I want you to do?" Instead try asking yourself "Why would I subscribe to this blog" ...
