TzuVelli Only 1 Week Old And Already Changes
TzuVelli has been open for only one week. All of you who were here on opening day know that it launched only partially completed. I was very embarrassed by this. But, I had little choice in the matter. I had already missed one opening date and I did not want to miss another. There are plenty of reasons for this sad state of affairs. I won’t bore you with the details. Hopefully, it will suffice to say that, the issues that occurred during the three weeks leading up to the blog’s launch were unavoidable. I hope you all will be patient with me as I complete the configurations to the theme, do a few structural reconfigurations, and get into a consistent blogging groove.
Blog Theme Configurations To Complete
- Complete the contact page.
- Complete the advertising page.
- Complete the post footer; with related post section and RSS subscription buttons.
- Add RSS subscription buttons to the footer.
Add temporary ad graphics to complete the visual aspects of the blog.Let me know what you think about the graphics.- Convert from using the "AddThis" to using the "ShareThis" plugin for social book marking.
- Complete the basic portion of the "Resource" pages. This should be complete by the end of the week. This is basically a living document. I will be updating this with new resources constantly. So for, now I am only wanting to complete the basic structure.
Blog Structural Changes To Complete
- Add a blog page. Some readers prefer to use a traditional blog style front page and not a magazine style front page. I have completed the structure and PHP necessary to do this. I just need to finish some design aspects. I had meant to have this ready by launch but time got the best of me.
Convert category pages to section pages. The Revolution Theme by Brian Gardner comes with section pages that enable you to highlight a featured article for a topic area. I think this is a much nicer way to present your categories. My plan is to create a resource post per section and use that as the featured article.Reduce the number of categories from 18 to 6. Because, I did not have any pre-launch material developed for several categories I had to delink them. This really got me thinking about how reducing the number of categories will help me stay focused.Eliminate categories from the sidebar and place them in a submenu just below the main menu bar.
Completing these changes will put a strain my available time for writing and posting. I will be working on an editorial calendar and posting schedule that will streamline the time it takes me to post. I hope that within the next few weeks I can settle into a good blogging rhythm. Again, thank you for your patience.
