The Truth About Making Money Online

In my last post Changes in Focus And Making Real Money I spoke about some recent changes in my thinking about making money online and how that had inspired me to make a few changes here at TzuVelli.

When I first started researching and learning how to blog I put a lot of time and effort into reading the traditional blogs about making money online. One thing I realized was that none of them really taught me how to make money online. Out of the three hundred blogs that I read, at the time, not one blogger laid out a plan a true strategy for making money online. most of what I learned centered around building readership, RSS, and social media traffic so you can sell ad space. It made sense, at the time. But, selling ad space is not a strategy for making money online, it is a strategy for selling ad space online.

The truth about making money online is that most bloggers in the make money online niche cannot teach you how to make money online, because they themselves do not know how to make money. I started TzuVelli because I realized that most make money bloggers didn’t have a clue what they were talking about. I thought I could learn a little bit about making money, experiment and then write about it. Boy, was I wrong. I quickly realized that I knew so little that I had to take a step back and figure things out.

The first post I ever read that actually taught me something about making money online was Your Local Niche Market at BloggerUnleashed. I wrote about this in 12 Reasons To Start A Local Niche Blog. It was at this point that reality started setting in about making money online. Although, I gave Vic credit for inspiring the post, I did not give him enough credit for beginning to open my eyes to how to truly make money online.

Ever since reading that post I have slowly come around to the reality about making money online. If you truly want to learn how to make money online then you need to read BloggerUnleashed. Vic outlines repeatable strategies for making money online and will open your eyes as to why what is traditionally taught in the make money niche is simply bad advice regurgitated by idiots that don’t have a clue as to what they are talking about.

Vic’s recent strategy push has been on BANS and leveraging the online auction giant Ebay to make money online. Although I have not written about it, I do plan on picking up the strategy. Most of my attention has been focused on understanding keyword sniping. It seems that the only difference between the two strategies is their monetization methods.

I have been hooked on BloggerUnleashed for the past few weeks. If you don’t read BloggerUnleashed then you’re not learning how to make money online.

Blogs that I have been reading recently that have really helped me to actually learn how to make money online; BloggerUnleashed written by Vic Franqui, Court’s Internet Marketing School written by Courtney Tuttle, and  Griz of How To make Money Online For Beginners, written by Griz.

    Hey Cath,

Thanks for stopping by. as you can tell i haven’t posted here in a while. I hope you find the info at the other sites useful and interesting. I know i have. I’ve been spending a lot of time understanding the finer details of the BANS strategy. I have 5 stores up so far with 35 more planned. Anyway, keep stopping by i’ll be posting on my experiences at each step.

Great post and very true. There’s a lot of blind people leading the blind out there. Now this is the second time I’ve read about Blogger Unleashed today and the second time I’ve read about BANS too, so I’m off to check them both out. Thanks.

    Hi Beau,

An interesting post – I counted 9 links to BloggerUnleashed – is there any reason why only 9 ? And is it better to have multiple links rather than just one ? BloggerUnleashed is a cool place and I hope to be getting more involved with BANS soon myself and learning about keyword sniping and miche setc… I have also discovered that that making money is not as easy as it seems and copying John Chow or Problogger are not really viable options – I’ll check out your keyword sniping post to see what I can discover.

I am glad to see that someone else has had the fortune of coming across the ‘;Three Muketeers’ of on the level MMO techniques; If you haven’t already, you will soon find yourself browsing another helpful site, Optempo. This site will be of special interest to those who pursue the niche blogging route.

    @ Vic H,

LOL. No 9 is not a magic number. I hadn’t really counted the number of links before. The links just seemed to fit at the time. I agree replicating how other bloggers make money online is difficult, especially when they do not give you a clear strategy on how to make money online. I hope you find the keyword snipng posts useful. At this point they are woefully inadequate to the money making strategy. I had planned to add to them but I have been a bit distracted with learning about how to make money with BANS. I will be back to writing about my experience with Keyword Sniping soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again.

    @ Stephen,

Yes I am glad that I found the Three Musketeers of Making Money Online as well. I have learned a lot from Vic, Court, and Griz. But., I still have a lot to learn about making money online. I am a bit overwhelme at the moment and have taken a step back to wrap my head around the different money making strategies.

I think Frank’s Optempo.com is fantastic as well. And have recently added him to my daily read list. I especially like the programs he has put out recently; Link LUV Poster, and BMD Buddy. They are both great time savers.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you again.

I found your blog by a link from Grizz’s site, “How To Make Money Online for Beginners” and I could not have written a better post about “The Truth…” than you have.

I am so glad I found the Big 3, Grizz, Court, & Vic. They have taught me more about making money online than anyone else – the real methods, not hype and outdated methods.

Now that I’ve found your site, I’ve bookmarked it for future reference. I especially like your theme & your graphics. Perhaps you can share where you obtained them.

Trust me, I’ll be reading more of your posts. Thanks for reminding me that, “its all about living a real life.” Thanks for that…
